ChatGPT Just Got Way More Useful With DoorDash and Spotify Built In

So ChatGPT can order your lunch now. And book your flights. And make Spotify playlists. OpenAI just rolled out integrations with a bunch of popular apps, and I've spent the past few days figuring out which ones are actually worth using.
Here's what caught my attention: you don't need to switch between apps anymore. Want Thai food? Just tell ChatGPT "order pad thai from somewhere nearby" and it'll pull up DoorDash options right in the chat. Planning a trip? Ask it to find flights to Miami in February and Expedia results pop up instantly. The Spotify integration is particularly smooth - I asked for "chill coding music without lyrics" and got a custom playlist in seconds.
But it's not perfect. The Canva integration feels clunky compared to just using Canva directly, especially for anything beyond basic templates. Figma works okay for simple wireframes, but good luck trying to do actual design work through a chatbot. And while the DoorDash integration is convenient, I noticed it sometimes suggests restaurants that are temporarily closed or have longer wait times than shown.
The real game-changer here isn't any single integration - it's that ChatGPT is becoming more of a personal assistant than just a chatbot. I found myself using it to book an Uber while simultaneously checking restaurant reviews and making dinner reservations for later. That kind of multitasking used to require juggling four different apps.
Setting it up is straightforward. Just head to your ChatGPT settings, click on connected apps, and authorize the ones you want. Fair warning though: you'll need active accounts with these services, and some features require paid subscriptions. But if you're already using these apps daily, having them accessible through ChatGPT genuinely saves time.
